Erdogan receives Gaza Tribunal’s Final Verdict from ICYF
According to an ICYF statement, the verdict—detailing serious human rights abuses and acts of genocide in the Gaza Strip—was presented by the forum’s president, Taha Ayhan, during a meeting on Friday.
Erdogan was commended for his principled approach and dedication to justice in response to the genocide in Gaza, the statement added.
The Final Verdict, initially announced in Istanbul on October 26, reflects the conclusions of the international civil society and underscores a global demand for accountability regarding the Gaza situation.
The tribunal’s Jury of Conscience determined that the occupying state and its collaborators bear responsibility for genocide and other grave international crimes.
The verdict highlighted that actions such as “the use of starvation as a weapon, ecocide (the systematic destruction of nature), the destruction of homes and living spaces (domicide), targeting health infrastructure and health workers, attacks on journalists and educational institutions, and the systematic eradication of civilian life” amount to serious violations under international law.
Following its presentation to Erdogan, the Final Verdict is set to be shared worldwide, the statement said.
ICYF indicated that evidence and witness testimonies gathered during the tribunal will be compiled by expert jurists and submitted to relevant authorities to support ongoing and potential future proceedings before the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
