Luna comments on Putin’s remarks during his Valdai speech
(MENAFN) US Representative Anna Paulina Luna stated that there's "no reason" why the US and Russia shouldn't be "great trade partners”.
On Thursday, the Florida Republican addressed Putin’s comments during his speech and remarks to the Valdai meeting.
During his nearly four-hour attendance at the event, the Russian president stated that the nation's "national interests" were aligned with the "restoration of full-fledged relations with the US."
Luna, who is a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, shared the relevant excerpt from Putin’s speech on her official X account, stating her agreement with the Russian leader that Moscow and Washington "should indeed mend their ties."
The congresswoman stated that “this needs to happen. There is no reason why we can’t be great trade partners with Russia.”
In his speech at the Valdai meeting, Putin repeatedly indicated that Russia is prepared to improve relations with Washington, on the condition that the US be ready to reciprocate and respect what Russia views as its national interests.
